Talison's Story...

Our family would like to welcome you to our site. And invite you to be a part of a strange and wonderful journey with us. We will not assume you are a person of faith, but hope as you walk this road with us that you will be able to experience what we have learned to be the greatest truth of our lives, God loves us.

This site was created as a way to share the story of the most painful and exciting time of our lives. You see we are expecting our long hoped for baby boy but the circumstances surrounding our little one are devastating due to the diagnosis we received. Our little Talison is diagnosed with having CDH. A condition where the natural hole in his diaphragm is too large, allowing his liver and other organs to herniate into his chest.

The greatest problem with this diagnosis is his lungs. With so much present in the chest, his lungs do not have the room they need to grow.

We were given two viable options; either terminate the pregnancy or have a very experimental surgery (at the time it had only been performed on 3 babies in the womb, only two survived). Tal’s diagnosis is so severe that the Doctors could only give him a 10% chance of survival (post birth), and even then his life would be greatly impaired due to not having enough lung to support him.

We, through prayer and much emotional travail, have decided against both options and chose a third; to go full term with the pregnancy and put our hope and trust in God. What is so painfully difficult for me as the mom is as long as Talison is in the womb he is fine. He is active and moving, responsive to our voices, and a very normal member of our family. He is completely unaware of his situation and growing daily as any normal healthy baby would. It’s when he is born, well; I can’t even put it into words.

For us this is a journey of faith, hope and love. I have been a Christian for 19 years and my husband even longer, through the worst and most devastating times God has always proven faithful. We cannot imagine living through this without Him as the center. We have two beautiful girls who are a testament of His love and faithfulness. And there is so much more to this story and much yet to be written.

There is no way we can tell the future, but we are believing in the One who we have invited to be in control over every moment of our existence. As a family we want to live for God and want our little Tal’s life to shine for His glory, and we hope we can accomplish this by sharing with you this time in our lives and living out our faith openly and honestly.

We invite you to join us in prayer for our little guy and have already been encouraged by the fact that our last doctor’s appointment showed that his lungs have grown. Our hope is for a complete and miraculous healing while he is womb side, but as of now we only believe that we will bring him home.

As a family we hope you will be encouraged, renewed, and most importantly loved. So many people want to know where God is in the midst of a tragedy and I have to share the absolute truth, He is in my heart. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and I confessed my sins putting my whole faith in His death and raising from the dead. And though this is the most difficult my walk has been so far I know I am not alone and neither are you.

Thank you for your support and prayers. We will continue to update this site with Prayer Requests, Journal Entries, Testimonies, Pictures, Scriptures and the many ways God is inspiring us to live as over comers.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 NIV (the first verse I ever memorized)

Love and Blessings,

The Johnson Family.
